Salomon Speedcross 3

“Salomon’s iconic running shoe that brought speed to the trails! Light, fast, and featuring a super precise fit, the SPEEDCROSS 3 can provide the ultimate grip in any conditions.”

I just picked these up from Zappos right before Christmas 2013.  I’ve been out a few times in them.

Why? I wanted a running shoe that had a could be worn during the winter and take punishment from the salt, slush, mud, water, and general grit our northeast winter has to dish out.  While I was looking for something with Gore-tex, I opted for these as I didn’t want to dish out the calms for the the fancy fabric.

[icon image=”bolt” size=”small” cont=”no” float=”left”]Support:  The speedcross 3, has ample but not over done arch support,  just right for my own feet.

[icon image=”bolt” size=”small” cont=”no” float=”left”]Comfort: I was leery of the comfort given the lugs, but given the soft rubber of the outer sole, these sneakers are very impact absorbent.  Further they fit a bit narrow, and when ordering I would watch as these seem to run about 1/4 size smaller than my Asics. Further these sneakers are extremely lightweight.  Which is nice

[icon image=”bolt” size=”small” cont=”no” float=”left”]Construction:  The materials and finish of these shoes are amazing.  No loose strings, Everything is neatly stitched and you can really tell the quality of the materials.

Size:  These were a bit narrow and 1/4 size smaller, (note when ordering)

In short these are a very well constructed and designed trail running shoe.  I’m a big fan of these sneakers and will keep this post updated as the next test will be to see how the fair over time.
